The Institute of Physics presents:
programs in English. Widescale general education in physics for the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
and the possibility of specialization in several fields of physics (astrophysics, biological physics, materials physics, atomic and molecular physics, particle physics, statistical physics, solid state physics) for the Master of Science (M.Sc.)
and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
degrees are offered.
In our M.Sc. program a curriculum for secondary and high-school teacher training is also available.
ELTE, the oldest university
in Hungary was founded in 1635. The great educational traditions of Hungary, which have given 14 Nobel-prize winners
to the world, go back also to this time.
In 1950 the University was reorganized and adopted its present name after one of its professors and world-famous physicist, Loránd Eötvös
