János Koltai is an assistant professor at the Department of Biological Physics. His main task is organizing the Modern Physics Lab works for physics BSc students.
He graduated in 1994 in theLutheran Secondary School 'Fasor', he received his MSc equivalent diploma in Physics from Eötvös (1999). In the academic year 2000-2001 he spent 12 months at the Lancaster University (United Kingdom) in Professor Colin J. Lambert's group.
He is attached to the Department since 2002.
Main fields of research interest:
transport properties of mesoscopic systems, metal-, superconductor- and ferromagnetic hybrid systems, spectra of Andreev billiards.
DFT and Huckel calculations on carbon based nanosctructures (graphene, nanotubes, fullerene-cubance co-crystals, etc).
Physics I-II lectures for 1st year geologist or chemist students,
Atoms and molecules, exercises for 4th year physicist or 1st year physics BSc students,
Modern physics lab works for 3rd year physicist or 2nd year physics BSc students.
